Massages, Manicures and Mammograms
Massages, Manicures, and Mammograms produced by CHUN and the Breast Care Center at Exempla Hospital
October 26 at the CHUN Offices (1290 Williams St.), from 4:00-7:00pm.
On Wednesday, October 26 from 4-7pm, Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, Inc. (CHUN) and the Breast Care Center at Exempla/Saint Joseph’s will host “Massages, Manicures, and Mammograms,” an evening of pampering and relaxation, as well as an opportunity for women to be screened in Exempla’s “Mobile Mammography Vehicle.” The event will take place at the CHUN office, 1290 Williams St. in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
This is a free event, and guests are invited to take care of themselves by getting their yearly mammograms while enjoying beverages and appetizers, and being pampered with a complimentary mini manicure and massage. For more information or to sign up to attend ‘Massages, Manicures and Mammograms,’ please call the Breast Care Center at 303-318-1380. All major insurances are accepted except for Kaiser Permanente, and no physician referral is needed.
“CHUN is happy to bring this important event to Capitol Hill and appreciates working with the Breast Care Center to provide these critical screenings,” said CHUN Executive Director, Roger Armstrong. “We hope to provide an important service in a peaceful and pampering setting.”
“Mammography is the only screening test proven to increase your chance of surviving breast cancer. But it only works if you get one,” commented Dr. Jerome Schroeder, Director of Imaging at The Breast Care Center at Exempla St. Joseph Hospital.
ABOUT EXEMPLA SAINT JOSEPH MOBILE MAMMOGRAPHY UNIT
The Exempla Saint Joseph mobile mammography program is designed to help reduce the barriers to health care that many women experience. By taking the van out in the community, we are able to provide the same level of care these women would receive in our center. We work with patients who receive a positive result to help coordinate the next steps in diagnosis and treatment. We accept most forms of insurance and no one is turned away because of inability to pay. Our staff is bilingual and committed to patient education. The Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital Mobile Mammography Unit is funded by the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital, Safeway Foundation and the Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
